The Legacy

Joe Anderson's Ancestors started their landscape company in the 1920’s during the depression in the Walla Walla, Washington area. They landscaped the great mansions and were one of the first contractors to install underground sprinkler systems in the area. Joe’s Grandfather started working with Joe’s great, great uncle, when he was 16 years old, and eventually started his own company.
Joe spent summers in the Walla Walla area helping his grandfather and learning the landscape trade. By the time he was 10 years old, he was plowing fields and running farm equipment.
Joe’s grandfather was a great teacher. He instilled a hard work ethic as he taught Joe about shape and form of plant materials and proper placement of rock. He also gave him a sense of natural balance and beauty in every landscape project. Joe developed a natural fascination with rock – a fascination that has evolved and is apparent in Anderson Landscaping projects today.
